While country songs definitely weren’t an upset at the iHeartRadio Music Awards last night, with nominated artists like Luke Bryan (Artist of the Year), Cole Swindell (Best New Artist), or Eric Church (Best Fan Army) losing to their non-country counterparts, Jason Aldean and Brantley Gilbert did manage to score wins, Aldean for Country Song of the Year with “Burnin’ It Down” and Gilbert for Renegade.

“I wasn’t expecting that one,” Gilbert said of the Renegade Award. “It was an honor to be in this category.” Gilbert took home the win ahead of nominees Charli XCX, Hozier, Iggy Azalea, and Meghan Trainor.
