Canaan Smith’s new “Love You Like That” music video perfectly captures the essence of summertime love in a small town. The video chronicles a swoon-worthy day in the life of a couple that includes a carefree drive through town, dancing at the bar, chilling on the side of a river bank, and a late night run to the local burger joint.
Canaan took several measures to give “Love You Like That” a truly authentic feel. Filming took place in an Columbia, TN – a town that’s becoming increasingly popular for country-themed movies and music videos due to its quaint atmosphere. Canaan’s team invited locals to be a part of the shoot, which contributes to the genuine feel of the final product. The sweetest part, though, is that Canaan’s wife stars opposite of him in the video. The two married earlier this month, and it’s quite clear from the video that Smith truly means it when he sings that his love for her is “deeper than a sunset sky” and “sweeter than muscadine wine.”
The video’s authentic delivery nicely complement’s Canaan’s more modern sound on the track, which will keep him on the fast track towards more commercial success.
