Demo of the Week: “Beginning of Things” (Abe Stoklasa / Donovan Woods)

DEMOS STRAIGHT FROM (3)

Demo of the Week: “Beginning of Things”

Writers: Abe Stoklasa, Donovan Woods

Vibe: Strong storytelling. Soft and reflective, but with different production and vocal choices could have a bit of a bite, more angry or bitter

Key lyrics: “And they started building a house / she’s still living there now / with her half painted porch and a rusty gold ring / he only likes the beginning of things”

Could be a good fit for: David Nail, Train, Tim McGraw, Joshua Radin, Dierks Bentley

X factor: The double meaning of the hook, which changes slightly at each turn, combined with the strength of the concept and the way it’s presented. Not over emotional, and very nicely crafted.
