Drake White’s latest single “Makin’ Me Look Good Again” (from his recent album Spark) received a reggae twist this week as part of his “Influences Sessions” video series. Popping up in an Austin, Texas, park with his band, White gives the song an organic Caribbean flavor, helmed by his rootsy voice.
“I had the opportunity to visit Jamaica a few years back and was enamored by the conviction in the music,” White says in the video’s description. “I’ve often said if I was stranded and had one record to listen to for the rest of my life it would be Bob Marley’s Legend. Simply because of the way my spirit feels when listening to it.”
The video is the second in the series, the first of which gave “Livin’ The Dream” a bluegrass twist.
