We last caught up with singer-songwriter Hailey Whitters shortly after the release of her debut album, Black Sheep. (Read the interview here.) Now, she’s back with her personal take on the lyrics to “Low All Afternoon,” one of many powerful tracks from the album. This bluesy, melancholy song about infidelity and lost love actually has a happy ending for the main character: “I wanted something that gave this girl some pride,” Whitters wrote next to the bridge. “An empowering moment.” Her vocals effectively convey the emotions felt throughout the song, but her lyrical prowess and strong storytelling abilities truly shine on this track.
