Hear Dustin Lynch’s Bluesy, Moving “Love Me Or Leave Me Alone”

Stop, collaborate, and listen: Dustin’s back with a brand new edition – and so far, it sounds great. The Tullahoma, TN native announced his upcoming album Current Mood yesterday via a livestream from a listening party at the George Dickel Distillery in Lynch’s native town. “This is where it all started,” Lynch said at the event. “I grew up… if you took flight, probably about a mile from here. [We’re] literally down the hill from my childhood home.”

Current Mood hit iTunes for presale at midnight, and includes the hotly anticipated “Love Me Or Leave Me Alone,” written by Chris Gelbuda and Dustin Christensen, as an instant gratification track. The track is bluesy, emotive, and impressive, with Lynch’s strong and expressive vocal leading over an array of shimmering electrics and soft percussion. The song features backing vocals from Karen Fairchild, who Lynch played the song for on tour and, he shares, threatened, “I’m gonna cut off your balls if you don’t let me sing this with you on your album.”

Lynch also announced his headlining Ride or Die Tour later this year, featuring Michael Ray, Lanco, and Ryan Hurd as guests (dates below).

Current Mood already has some built-in starpower, as both singles “Seein’ Red” (which went #1) and “Small Town Boy” (currently Top 5) have been certified RIAA Gold. The 13-track release, available September 8 via Broken Bow Records, promises a mix of introspective pop-leaning jams, crooning slow-burners, and thoughtful missives.
