Hear Midland’s Cheeky, Lighthearted “Make A Little” Ahead of Album Release

Retro-cool country trio Midland is back with “Make A Little,” the second track off their forthcoming full-length debut On The Rocks. Their lead single “Drinkin’ Problem” has been climbing the charts this summer, with its smooth 90s-esque traditional sound and simple lyrics that boast plenty of clever wordplay.

With “Make A Little,” the trio takes the tempo up a few notches – it’s happy and lighthearted, line dance-ready, and the lyrics are just the right mix of humorous and heartfelt. The honky-tonk rhythm pairs with prominent yodel-vocals and commanding harmonies to celebrate the “spread love” message that’s hidden under the (many) cheeky innuendos and rocking guitars.

Key Lyrics: “It’s a hard-living, tail-kicking, trip that we’re all on / But I’m betting we can find a little sunshine in the night / It’s a back-breaking, soul-taking, road we walk so what are we waiting for / Baby let’s turn off the lights, ’cause girl there’s just not enough love in the world / So we should make a little…”

Midland’s debut album On The Rocks is due out September 22 via Big Machine. Keep up with the band’s releases and tour dates here.
