Hidden Gem: Hear Kenny Chesney and Writer Wendell Mobley Sing “There Goes My Life”

Unless you live under or have a soul made of rock, chances are you’ve been moved by Kenny Chesney’s seven-week #1, “There Goes My Life.” Written by Neil Thrasher and Wendell Mobley, the song was the first single from Chesney’s 2002 record When The Sun Goes Down. Though the idea for the first verse and the song’s tag – there goes my life – came to Thrasher initially, it was Mobley for whom the lyric really hit home, as they shared with Country Weekly in 2004. Mobley performed the song with Chesney at a CMA Songwriters Series event in 2011 in Boston – take a listen to the incredible song as sung by two incredibly gripping voices.
