Alt-country singer-songwriter Lydia Loveless released her new single “Desire” last week, accompanied by an unusual B-side track: an emotive, minimalist cover of Justin Bieber’s hit “Sorry.” Loveless and Bieber are arguably one of the most unlikely combinations across all genres of music – however, Loveless’ artistic take gives the song an entirely new life. The gentle guitar and somber vocals turn the otherwise-upbeat pop track into a sad and heartfelt apology.
