Jerrod Niemann released the video this evening for his current single, “Blue Bandana.” The single marks a return for the artist to a more organic, mid-tempo vibe, and connected well at first impact, garnering an impressive 61 first-week radio adds. Written by CJ Solar, Ben Goldsmith, and Andy Scott Wills, the song follows a “Bonnaroo baby, she’s Coachella crazy” from festival to festival, seeking “the girl with the blue bandana.” The video is unsurprisingly fitting – the girl in question has flowing long hair, wears loose-fitting floral wraps and lots of jewelry, and drives a VW bug – but it manages to feel for the most part unburdened by clichés. Both the video and the execution of the song cast Niemann in some excellent lighting, and continue to be a strong showing for the singer, for whom “Blue Bandana” currently climbs the charts at #43.
