Kelsea Ballerini has been setting country music on fire lately, and this week sets a new record with her song “Love Me Like You Mean It,” which hits #1 this week at country radio according to Mediabase. The song is the first debut single from a female solo artist to hit #1 since 2006, when Carrie Underwood topped the charts with “Jesus Take The Wheel.”

The single, which led Ballerini’s albumĀ The First Time, is the first debut chart topper since Sam Hunt’s “Leave The Night On” and first female debut topper since Maddie & Tae’s “Girl In A Country Song.” The song, written by Ballerini with Josh Kerr and Lance Carpenter, also marks the first #1 for Black River Entertainment.
