If there is one thing to know about Kip Moore, it’s that he is unapologetic about who he is: admittedly passionate, stubborn, and perhaps a bit rough-around-the-edges. An accurate representation of Kip’s personality can be found in the 3rd single of his much-anticipated sophomore album, titled “I’m To Blame.” This song nonchalantly spotlights a list of troublesome behavior that a country boy finds himself in, and exudes an air of rustic charm that is found in many of Moore’s songs.

With lyrics such as “Where there’s smoke, my pocket-lighter sparked the fire/Where there’s blue lights, just read me my rights,” Kip owns up to his bad-boy persona with an ease that shows he is comfortable with his character. As part of the chorus states, Kip has “Come from a long line of bloodline/Ain’t gonna change” (and nor should he, if you ask us).

Essentially, this sticks-to-his-guns artist embraces that he’s not perfect and wants others to embrace it, too. But don’t be fooled; “I’m To Blame” isn’t your typical “bro country.”

With the help of Justin Weaver and friend and Magic Mustang songwriter Westin Davis, Moore uses stark imagery and tail-ends of impish decisions to seamlessly tell the story of someone pushing the boundaries and trying to find their way. To put it simply, “I’m To Blame” is the good kind of catchy that is expected to soar to the top of the charts, far past its precedents “Young Love” and “Dirt Road.”

The pairing of undoubtedly relatable and humorous lyrics with an in-your-face, upbeat tune, “I’m to Blame” cannot be overlooked, and is sure to get listeners on their feet and feeling mischievous. As of today, Moore’s single will be played on several radio stations and will be available to purchase on iTunes on February 2nd. Until then, be sure to request this refreshingly honest song to your local radio stations.
