While Miranda Lambert’s forthcoming double-disc album isn’t fully available until November 18th, another song from the project was released yesterday. “Highway Vagabond” follows “Keeper of the Flame,” released October 29, as well as the lead single “Vice.” The newest track is an upbeat, road-trip-worthy nod to wanderers and gypsy souls, and was written by Natalie Hemby, Luke Dick, and Shane McAnally. The production – more layered vocals, less grit – is notably different from Lambert’s previous work, and the lyrics boast wordplay and a fast-rolling chorus with satisfying rhymes.

The track is also the namesake of Lambert’s 2017 Highway Vagabond tour, featuring special guests Old Dominion and Aubrie Sellers.

Key lyrics: “I wanna go somewhere where nobody knows / I wanna know somewhere where nobody goes / Following gold lines on the ground…”
