Watch: Little Big Town Release Video for “Better Man”

“Better Man,” Little Big Town’s first single off their next project,  feels like you are reading a page out of their personal diary.  The Taylor Swift-penned song features the group’s classic harmonies that have lent a hand in sustaining their incredible career over the last decade.  “Better Man” is intimate, allowing the listener in on a plea, a prayer even for changed ways and different circumstances.

“I know, I’m probably better off on my own / than loving a man who didn’t know what he had, when he had it / and I see, the permanent damage you did to me / Never again, I just wish I could forget when it was magic / I wish it wasn’t 4 am, standing in the mirror, saying to myself “you know you had to do it” / I know, the bravest thing I ever did was run.”

Alluding to an abusive relationship, chilling lead vocals by Karen Fairchild describe a woman’s tragic loss of a man she wished could change.

“I hold onto this pride because these days it’s all I have / And I gave you my best and we both know you can’t say that / You can’t say that / I wish you were a better man / I wonder what we would’ve become / If you were a better man / We might still be in love / If you were a better man / You would’ve been the one / If you were a better man.”

In recent years, Little Big Town have pushed fans to question their stance on important issues and to, most importantly, feel something real through their music.  Listen to “Better Man” below.
