Martha’s Vineyard Songwriting Festival Offers Workshops With Country’s Hit Songwriters & Shows From Rising Stars

Hit songwriters, some of the finest up and comers out of Nashville and New England, and the stunning seascapes of Martha’s Vineyard? Sign us up.

The Martha’s Vineyard Songwriting Festival makes song lovers’ and aspiring songwriters’ dreams a reality this Septembers as it offers a series of shows, Q&A events, and workshops with the pros. This year’s festivities, which take place from September 13-17 in Boston and Martha’s Vineyard, serve as the sixth annual offering of this not-to-miss festival.

The festival begins with several open-to-the-public shows in Boston, then moves to Martha’s Vineyard for a series of workshops, shows, and writers rounds with some of country music’s biggest talents.

Representing well-established songwriting talent this year are Jaron Boyer, Dave Brainard, Lance Carpenter, Marty Dodson, Clay Mills, and Jimmy Yeary, who have written hits like “Somewhere On A Beach,” “Love Me Like You Mean It,” and “I Drive Your Truck,” to name a few.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Rising Star portion of the weekend includes Shotgun Seat faves including Erik Dylan, CJ Solar, and Lacy Cavalier, along with the talented Michael Tyler, Martin & Kelly, Alec MacGillivray, and Jenny Tolman.

Tickets to the festival are $399, which includes the workshops, island transportation and lodging, and most meals. VIP tickets are also available for the Martha’s Vineyard events attend the welcome BBQ Friday, pre-party before the show, a seat in the first four rows, a meet & greet, and a chowder and a drink during show from the Martha’s Vineyard Chowder Company. In Boston, show tickets are $20 or $75 for VIP, which includes a VIP seat, free appetizers, Jack Daniels tasting, and a meet & greet for both shows.
