Last week, 19 year old country-pop singer Danielle Bradbery announced on Twitter that she’d be releasing a new single “Friend Zone” on Friday, August 28th. Bradbery has been sharing pictures of her time in the studio over the past few weeks; the single is the first teaser from her to be announced sophomore album.
If you were expecting something similar to “The Heart of Dixie” then you’re definitely in for a surprise. As the title “Friend Zone” suggests, it’s a completely new angle for Danielle’s music. It’s sassy and contemporary with a modern blend of synthetic pop type of sounds as well as country and little vocal breakdowns throughout. It’s perfectly sassy and age appropriate, and a definite departure from her debut album released in 2013.
You can buy the single on iTunes now or hear the track on Spotify.
