Kacey Musgraves tweeted last July about working with Brian Wilson, and we’ve been curious ever since as to what exactly that collaboration would entail. Yesterday, the audio was posted for “Guess You Had To Be There,” which will appear on Wilson’s newest album No Pier Pressure, available March 31st.
The track is an interesting pairing of the country starlette and the Beach Boy’s styles, for a sound that fits comfortably within both their wheelhouses.
“When it’s good it’s good, when it’s not — do it again. But after three tries, Kacey nailed it,” Wilson told Rolling Stone. I like the way she just slides over the notes — she has a very cool sound.”
