Playlist: Songs by Writer Tony Lane

Oh, man, Tony Lane. For lovers of thoughtful songwriting or lyrically-minded writers like Scooter Carusoe or Tom Douglas, Tony Lane is an absolute must-listen. You may know him from Tim McGraw’s Faith Hill duet “I Need You,” Lee Ann Womack’s “Little Past Little Rock,” or “Run” by George Strait, among countless others. But it’s his knack for hitting just the right emotional note paired with an ability to say so much with so little that makes Lane a standout writer.

“Like the needle needs the vein, like my uncle Joe in Oklahoma needs the rain… I need you.”
