The #1 Most Added New Artist on Country radio Drew Baldridge released his first EP to iTunes yesterday. “Dance With Ya,” the title track, has already hit top 10 on Sirius XM’s Hot 45 countdown.  Drew told us in an exclusive interview that he was excited to release a few songs early 2016 as an EP and his fans will certainly not be disappointed.

The EP features 5 songs including “Dance With Ya” and they all share the same traditional country sound infused with bright pop. “Tractors Don’t Roll” is the quintessential down home southern song. “That’s Sunday in a small town / everything just slows down /  after six days working hard / it’s horse shoes in the backyard shade / got it made / pray for rain so the corn grows / amen wash the dirt off your John Deere soul/ Lord knows it’s the one day of the week tractors don’t roll.”  This song should be an obvious second single for radio for it is wholesome and shows off his strong vocals.

“I love horns, so horns will be found throughout the album,” Baldridge tells us of his sound’s composition. “I love dance music, I love Earth Wind and Fire, I love Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley and I love his big band look.”

Another standout moment on the EP is “Rebound” where Baldridge’s low baritone voice harmonizes beautifully with a female voice. The song tells the story of a man deciding he will no longer be the rebound in this back and forth relationship. “I ain’t tripping over all the words that you’re throwin’ out / I ain’t your rebound.” while she sings “Don’t you think we could / it feels so good / boy we should / baby don’t you miss tastin’ my kiss / I know you want this.”

At The Shotgun Seat we look forward to watching this sincere artist bring country to a new place with his unique bright style.
