Song of the Day: “Little Toy Guns” by Carrie Underwood

Our song of the day is Carrie Underwood’s newest single, written with Chris DeStefano and Hillary Lindsey, and produced by Mark Bright. “Little Toy Guns” first appeared on Underwood’s Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album, and is currently #14 at airplay according to Mediabase. The song follows her single “Something in the Water,” which hit #1 and set/broke airplay records.

“I’ve seen it firsthand from different people in my life and seen how the tumultuous parental relationship […] can affect a child. So that’s kind of what it’s about, but it’s a really tempo-driven song as well, so it’s kind of a bit of a juxtaposition as far as the story content and the music … It sounds rockin’, but it has a positive message,” Underwood says.
