Tara Thompson released today her single “Someone To Take Your Place” and we’re head-over-Payless-shoes for the fiery songstress. “Someone To Take Your Place,” written with Alex Kline and Leslie Satcher and produced by Kline, is packed with sassy swagger and down to earth charm, rebuffing a former lover in favor of someone new. It’s vocally impressive – think old school Miranda Lambert or a happy-go-lucky Lee Ann Womack – and cleverly written.
Thompson, recently signed to Big Machine Music’s Valory Records (home to Thomas Rhett, Brantley Gilbert), kicks off the new year on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour as a featured guest, joining Jennifer Nettles, Brandy Clark, and Lindsay Ell.
