Thomas Rhett isn’t giving up on his ex in his video for “Crash and Burn,” which debuted today via People. So he does what any man old enough to have seen Say Anything would do – grabs a boom box and hoists it high, standing outside her apartment despite the rain. For John Cusack’s mellow character, it works; for Rhett’s… not so much. But a little shrug and a little smile go a long way, and Rhett looks and sounds great despite the three and half minute saga of rejection.
“Crash and Burn,” written by Jesse Frasure and Chris Stapleton and produced by Frasure and Dann Huff, currently sits at #23 at radio, according to Mediabase. Stapleton, who recently released his critically acclaimed solo album Traveller, also sings backing vocals on the track.
