Chasing a career in country music, Lindsey Bryant has recently released her first EP to iTunes. The self titled EP features four original songs and one cover, MTKO’s “Classic.”  Born in New Orleans but growing up in Georgia, Tennessee and Louisiana, Bryant has had her fair share of southern influences.  With two musicians as parents, a piano teacher and a baptist music minister it is no surprise that Bryant grew up with ambitions of being a country singer.

The first song on the album and her debut single, “Get Down and Giddy Up” is an upbeat girl power anthem.  “Tonight It’s Our World, Light It Up / Shine Leave It All Behind You / Ain’t No Better Time To Ah ah ah Get Down and Giddy Up.”   With some help from co-writers Cindy Morgan and Pete Stewart, Bryant decided she want her first song in the country world to be giddy and leave listeners with a happy feeling.

Bryant lends her beautiful voice to a fresh new take on a love song, making for a favorite on the EP. “Name Changer” follows the story of a young girl going on a date, feeling the thrill of those first sparks.  This song is relatable t0 girls of every age and really describes way they felt when they meet the one.  From the first kiss to the ultimate wedding day this song shows off Bryant’s elegant vocal range and ability to tell a classic country love story. “Little white church candle light little white dress that fits just right / Never saw my daddy cry till we were walking down the aisle / I want to spend my life with you / I am, you are, I will I do.”

Touching on different topics, each of the four original songs on the EP give fans a good idea what to expect from Bryant as she tries to follow her dream of being a strong female player in the country world. An interesting fun fact: when not on the road, Bryant can be found at Disney World, entertaining fans of all ages as Cinderella, Ariel and Rapunzel.

  1. Great story. Great songs. I expect to see and hear a lot of Lindsey Bryant in the future. Country music needs a new voice like this, and needs positive songs like the ones Lindsey has written and recorded.
