William Michael Morgan released the visual to his newest single “Missing” this week. Though the video was shot in Palm Springs, California, “Missing” highlights the desire to head off, well, anywhere, describing that too real feeling of just wanting to disappear off the map for a weekend. “You won’t find me ’cause I can’t be found / I’m on a mission to be missing,” Morgan sings in the hook.

The song, escapism at its best, was written by Rhett Akins and Marv Green. Though wanting to get out of town is nothing new, the duo find fresh lyrics for Morgan’s strong vocal and warm production. “Don’t you go missing me, ’cause sometimes missing is my favorite place to be,” he sings from the bed of his pickup, parked beside desert brush at the foot of red dirt mountains.

If winter wanderlust hasn’t yet kicked in this season, “Missing” will have you gassing up the truck.

The song follows the #1 success of Morgan’s single “I Met A Girl,” from his debut album, the fresh-yet-classic Vinyl. The video was directed and shot by Jack Guy.
