A standout from rising star Brett Young’s self-titled debut album is “Like I Loved You,” the emotive anti-let’s-be-friends that serves as the Californian’s third single. The song, written by Young with Jesse Lee (who wrote Kelsea Ballerini’s “Peter Pan”), follows the success of his first two singles, both of which topped country radio charts. The video follows Young through the motions after a breakup, concluding with the bitingly real: “I gotta be honest, if you really believe that’s the truth / you never loved me like I loved you.”
