“I just couldn’t stop listening to it.” | Brandon Ray Shares The Story Behind His New Single, “Ends of the Earth”

“I just couldn’t stop listening to it,” Brandon Ray shares of the first time he heard the demo for his current single, “Ends of the Earth.” The song is sweet and summery, chronicling dedication to a romance.

“I started working with Ross Copperman – we had written a few songs together,” Ray says. Copperman and Keith Urban have a company together, and it was through the former that Urban first heard Ray’s songs, one of which they ended up producing. “It sounded so good and it was so fun that they were like man, we need to do another one,” Ray says.

Ray, a prolific songwriter, continued to write in Nashville, and the trio would send songs back and forth, one of which – “Ends of the Earth” – caught Ray’s ear. The song was one Copperman had written with Nicolle Galyon and Jon Nite. Understandably, Ray couldn’t take it off loop.

The result is undeniably catchy. Urban thought so too – the star not only produced the song, but also sang backup and played on the track. When Ray isn’t writing in Nashville or hitting the road on tour, he can be found working on old cars. The artist and writer has a “love hate relationship,” he jokes, with his 1978 F-150.

Learn more about Ray this Wednesday, as he joins us live from the George Dickel distillery at Cascade Hollow – Facebook live, 7:30 central.
