A month after making headlines for signing with Big Machine Label Group’s Dot Records to release a solo country album, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler released the first single from his upcoming record today. Although “Love Is Your Name,” written by Eric Paslay (“She Don’t Love You”) and Lindsey Lee, is Tyler’s first country release, he’s collaborated with country artists such as Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and Jana Kramer over the years.

He first heard the song when Lee performed it at the Bluebird Café in 2013. “When I heard it again for this record, I said, ‘That’s the direction I want to go, the direction of I don’t know what, but it sure don’t sound country,’” Tyler tells USA Today. “It’s a little bit between Steven Tyler and Mumford & Sons and the Everly Brothers.”

There’s no set release date for the album yet, but Tyler has been writing with Nashville songwriters, including Hillary Lindsey and Brett James, the past few months to create tracks that blend his voice with a country feel.

“Love Is Your Name” is available on iTunes. You can also catch Steven Tyler perform the song live on the American Idol finale tonight at 8/7c on Fox.
