Take A Listen to Keith Urban’s Newest Song, “Break On Me”

Keith Urban posted today his newest single, “Break On Me.” The song is a ballad that contains the instrumental sensibilities of his more recently releases combined with the emotion of his classics like “Tonight I Wanna Cry.” The song was written by Ross Copperman and Jon Nite and co-produced by Nathan Chapman.

“There’ll be days your heart don’t wanna beat / you pray more than you breathe / and you just wanna fall to pieces,” Urban begins the song. “Break on me / shatter like glass / come apart in my hands / take as long as it takes, girl,” he continues in the chorus. “When you heart needs to break, just break on me.”

Ballads, love songs, and emotionally-wrought tracks are all very much in Urban’s wheelhouse, and he sounds as heartfelt as ever, opting to be a rock for someone that’s hurting. Though Urban hasn’t kept strictly to uptempos with recent singles – “Cop Car” and “Raise ‘Em Up” both kept to a mellower groove – “Break On Me” is the first time Urban’s returned to this side of his sound since 2011’s “Without You.”

The song follows “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,” which recently went #1 at airplay for Urban.
