Little Big Town have been taking country music – and beyond – by storm recently with their incredible 2014 album Painkiller and its much-discussed second single, “Girl Crush.” But don’t let the media flurry keep you from spending time with the rest of the album, especially the jaunty “Stay All Night.” LBT have recently been performing the killer track at big events, including at a FOX Sports event and at this year’s iHeart Radio Country Festival.
It’s always an amazing journey hearing a song in its early iterations and comparing with the final result, and we’re incredibly excited to share the stellar demo for “Stay All Night.” Written by Jason Saenz and Brent Cobb along with LBT’s Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet, the song featured that funky electric groove from the start. With a group for whom harmony is such a strong component, it’s interesting to see the way those elements are taken into consideration even early on.
