Granger Smith had two reasons to celebrate last night at Nashville’s Sutler Saloon. Not only does Smith kick off a series of nation-wide album preview parties – for details, head to grangeracrossmerica.com – he does so with his lead single “Backroad Song” at #1 at country radio this week.
At his listening part last night, Smith shared with listeners a taste of his upcoming album, Remington, due out March 4th from Broken Bow Records. The album, which features label-mate Brooke Eden as well as new songs from alter-ego Earl Dibbles Jr., follows the feel of “Backroad Song.” Smith noted that he’s always found it important for an artist to have a cohesive sound, letting the single serve as a fair taste of what fan should expect on an LP. “If The Boot Fits” writers Jordan Schmidt, Andy Albert, and Mitchell Tenpenny were also on hand.
Aside from new music, Smith, or Dibbles Jr., continues to expand his beloved “YeeYee” offering, sporting a snapback bearing the shotgun and moniker. ‘YeeYee energy,’ a camo-clad can of energy drink created by Smith, was also plentiful, tasting of carbonated candy.
