If you’ve spent time in Nashville, chances are you’re familiar with the concept of a writers’ round, where songwriters share a stage and play their songs “in the round,” going down the line each playing one song and then repeating. Up and comers and seasoned hitmakers alike share the stories behind their songs in this format, which generally feels more like a casual retelling among friends.
CRS this week boasted an incredible series of writers rounds, closing off the night on Thursday with powerhouses Caitlyn Smith, Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey, and Liz Rose. The latter three write together as The Love Junkies, with hits including Little Big Town’s phenomenal recent single, “Girl Crush.”
Last night, Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town stopped by to sing the song with the trio, in a fun, casual, and incredibly special delivery of the song. Check out “Girl Crush” below.
