Cam released last week the lyric video to her latest single, “Burning House,” off her debut EP Welcome to Cam Country. The song is the next song picked for iHeartRadio’s On The Verge program, which has recently boosted Chris Janson and Michael Ray. “Burning House” is vocally and lyrically focused, with simple instrumentation and structure, and Cam’s voice is by far the standout feature of the song. Much like its slow-tempoed radio colleague “Girl Crush,” “Burning House” could either ignite or stall at radio. The singer, who has penned songs for artists including Miley Cyrus, peaked at just 52 on country airplay with her debut single, “My Mistake.”
