Chris Stapleton – “Fire Away” Acoustic at Vevo
Chris Stapleton has been issuing stunning previews of his May 5th album Traveller, the latest of which is “Fire Away,” the emotive second track on the album. “Honey, load up your questions, and pick up your sticks and your stones,” Stapleton begins on the soulful, sweeping song.
“I wrote this song with a songwriter named Danny Green,” Stapleton says. “I think one of us in the room had had an argument with a woman that morning or the night before. It’s a song about the frustration of commitment to me. Maybe that’s why my wife always wanted me to record this song.”
Wife Morgane Stapleton, who appears in the video, also joins her husband on vocals on several of the album’s tracks.
Stapleton has also previewed the album with the title track, “Traveller,” as well as “When The Stars Come Out.” “Traveller” hits radio April 27th, ahead of the much-buzzed album release.
