Following his incredible performance with Chris Stapleton at this year’s CMA Awards, Justin Timberlake is making his official move to country, sending “Drink You Away” to radio November 23.
It’s well documented that Timberlake has been plotting a move to country for a while – he mentioned relocating to Nashville, a move he recently made, and has discussed his Memphis upbringing extensively. With “Drink You Away,” which first appeared two years ago on his R&B/pop-marketed 20/20 Experience, Timberlake is officially switching gears. The song is only being sent to the country format.
“Having Justin in the room elevates everybody — not just everybody on the stage, but everybody in the room,” Stapleton told EW following their performance. “He’s that guy, he has that kind of talent.”
