Gretchen Peters is well-known for the dark, haunting themes in her music. Her newest music video for “Blackbirds,” the title track off her latest album, is just what you’d expect: an artistic take on a bleak subject.
Instead of enlisting actors, Peters employed animator Eric Power to tell the story of a murder in rural America. Power uses stop motion silhouettes and shadows throughout the black and white music video. It’s truly a beautiful piece of art of its own.
