Striking Matches Tease New Album with Three Killer Songs

In preparation for the highly anticipated release of their first studio album, Nothing But The Silence, the powerhouse duo of Sarah Zimmerman and Justin Davis have been whetting fans’ appetites by slowly releasing new music and videos.

Their first release, “Missing You Tonight” hit iTunes and Spotify on January 12th, a bluesy, rocking ode to simple yearning.

On Jan. 26, the band released the studio version of “Hanging On A Lie,” the new album’s second single, also on Spotify and iTunes.

“Hanging On A Lie” had been written for and previously featured on the hit CBS television show Nashville, and features more of the sultry sass of Zimmerman, with Davis only chiming in for backup vocals on the chorus.

The single is a combination of blues, country and rock n’ roll influences, the typical recipe for the duo’s success, but “Hanging On A Lie” seems to be mostly shaped by the guitar-driven classics of rock n’ roll.

On Feb. 3, the band dropped another teaser in the form of a video of a live studio version of the peppy and fun, “Trouble Is As Trouble Does.”

The video premiered online on Rolling Stone Country and was described as “fearlessly (and flawlessly) shredding” on guitars in a “1 mic 1 take performance.”

The video perfectly demonstrates the complementary playing styles of the duo and shows the masterful way in which they harmonize live.

The duo, who originally met by being randomly paired in a guitar class as students of Belmont University, has attracted both national and international attention since combining their talents and being featured as song-writers and guest artists on the show Nashville and they are expertly using that popularity to launch their new album.

As the band continues to release new music and videos, they are also promoting both the pre-order of their new album and their European tour dates, both of which are promised to be well worth the wait.

Grab their latest and pre-order the album on iTunes and connect with them on their website, Facebook, and Twitter.
