We had the incredible honor of hosting our first writers round for a full house this week at Nashville’s The Listening Room. The hour and a half long set featured performances by songwriters Dan Couch, Tia Scola, Billy Montana, Erik Dylan, and Jillian Jacqueline (accompanied by Tofer Brown), as well as a guest appearance from Phil Barton.
From uptempo sing-alongs to heartfelt ballads, the group had an incredible offering. Montana’s “Bring On The Rain,” which Jo Dee Messina took to #1 with Tim McGraw in 2002, and Dylan’s “Comeback Kid,” which recently appeared on Kip Moore’s sophomore album Wild Ones, tugged on heartstrings. Jacqueline and Scola sampled from upcoming projects, and Couch led with his current Canaan Smith single, “Hole In A Bottle.” The crowd and Montana traded singing choruses for his Sara Evans hit “Suds In A Bucket,” while Phil Barton earned a hearty “drive through chicken” yell in his Lee Brice hit “A Woman Like You.”
To the large and attentive crowd and the overwhelming talent onstage, we want to extend an enormous thank you.
